Bret Hartman has been a prominent figure for over 20 years in the fields of information security and secure systems development. At the National Security Agency he helped create the DoD Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria, the famous NSA Orange Book that was the foundation of information security assurance and the Common Criteria framework. Bret also coauthored Mastering Web Services Security (Wiley 2003) and Enterprise Security with EJB and CORBA (Wiley 2001). Bret is a coeditor of the Security Scenarios document produced by the WS-I Basic Security Profile Working Group and he coauthored the CORBA Security specification.
