With just four days to go before the start of AJAXWorld 2006, which begins with a pre-conference AJAX University Bootcamp on October 2 led by Dion Hinchcliffe followed by two full days of Conference & Expo on October 3-4, it is looking increasingly likely that every single ticket will be sold. As of this writing there is room for just 35 more attendees.

AJAX matters. We live and work in a world where more than a billion people are now on the Internet, a few hundred million of whom are online at any given moment. We live and work in a world in which people are increasingly storing their private and critical data such as their calendars, contacts, e-mail and documents on websites. We live and work in a world where the shift toward a more user-centric experience online is irreversible, and AJAX has established itself as one of the early enablers of that shift.
Those attending AJAXWorld 2006 will be able to mix with those who have helped create and refine the technologies underlying the AJAX approach. They will be able to learn from those who have developed a variety of alternative approaches. The conference will be the setting for the most sustained debate about where Rich Internet Applications are taking the worlds of work, entertainment, social networking and education. Attendees will hear and learn about the AJAX-based and other AJAX-like tools that are making it easy to create web applications that work just like desktop applications.
